WHAT IS WAMS

The 1st International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing took place in 2022 in The Netherlands. Although this was intended to be an in-person event, the persisting COVID restrictions in Europe meant that we had to make it an online conference. Almost 600 participants registered from industry, government, and academia and 37 different countries, during the 4 days of the conference we had 10 Plenary presentations from the Automotive, Aerospace and Space Industry, including ESA, NASA, Boeing, Airbus, Virgin Orbit, Space-X and Ferrari.

There were 184 presentations from Academia and Industry covering 19 different topics. The most popular were Additive Manufacturing, In-Space Manufacturing, Joining and Composites.

This Symposium will be held every two years alternating between Europe and North America. NASA and ESA consider this conference to be very important and will be sending many people in person to the conference. Although the final number of abstracts is not yet known, we are expecting the European Space Industry and Academia to be submitting around 50 abstracts, making it a truly collaborative EU-US conference.
